The Beatles Anomalies List

"What Goes On" is a project devoted to listing and explaining interesting elements recorded on Beatles productions. The word anomaly is used here in the sense of "something that deviates from the general rule or the usual type, an inconsistency".

The list was originally started in 1992 which gives you some idea of the dedication and persistence involved in bringing it this far. Consequently the research is uniquely interesting to Beatles fans and popular music historians. The anomalies are listed alphabetically and by album with links to other useful Beatles resources along the way. There’s also a handy page of mp3 audio clips so you can listen to examples of the anomalies and read the explanations.
