I recently watched a double documentary broadcast on BBC4 about Ivor Cutler the Glaswegian poet, songwriter, performer, painter and writer. The first program, "Looking For Truth With A Pin", chronicles the life and times of Ivor who turned 82 this year. The second, "Cutler’s Last Stand", is a half hour video recording of Ivor performing his last concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall before retiring from the stage at the age of 81.
I hadn’t listened to his work for several years and the BBC shows reignited my appreciation. Fortunately a nice person had the presence of mind to post some welcome links for Ivor Cutler on Metafilter. One of them, John Gibbin’s Ivor’s Radio Sessions, has a good collection of links to audio files. For the rest you’ll need to read the Metafilter post which also has some interesting comments.
