Churchill Speech Interactive is an online educational resource that allows you to explore Winston Churchill’s renowned ‘Iron Curtain’ speech. Officially titled ‘Sinews of Peace’, the speech was delivered on 5th March 1946 at Westminster College, Fulton Missouri at the invitation of U.S. President Truman.
The speech is organized into a number of colour-coded themes including Stalin and the Soviet Union, Churchill as orator, Europe in ruins, the Atom bomb, the special relationship, Churchill and Europe.
The Speech Player is a Flash-based interface which takes the form of a moving time-line. Visual objects on the time-line are synchronised to the speech and can be selected to expand related topics.
The project is a collaboration between mwr and the Churchill Family, with support from Cisco Systems.
