YubNub is a social command line for the web that lets you trigger web services by entering commands in your browser. You can create your own commands or use the featured commands listed at YubNub Golden Eggs!. Here’s the full Command List (ls).
The simple web interface looks just like a search engine and lets you enter short text commands to access site URLs and perform tasks like searching. For example typing /. will take you to the Slashdot homepage (see /. discussion of HubNub).
You can use it to search for sound files and music data. Here are some examples of commands in use:
- disc dj will search the DISCOGRAPHIES website for "DJ" entries. Discogs is a user-built database containing information on artists, labels, and their recordings.
- sound – to visit FindSounds.com, a free site where you can search the Web for sound effects and musical instrument samples.
- webjay Latin – will use blogdigger to search webjay playlists that mention the word latin.
- wp music – to search Wikipedia for the keyword music.
YubNub is the brainchild of Jonathan Aquino.
